We have named this one Little Foot, it is 3-4 weeks old. Only reason I can validate the age is because I purchased it on May 22 as a Lavender Brahma. 3 weeks later and this little chick is growing really slow compared to the others. It leaves me to believe this is a bantam or it is a runt. It is eating and drinking fine, but I’m worried because it is growing so slow. I’ve never experienced this before. Is this normal?

If she is behaving as a normal sized chick she should be fine. She will just be a smaller hen. If you notice anything wrong with her, I would keep her in a separate cage if you have other chicks.

Sometimes she seems more lazy than the rest, but wakes up, starts peeping, eating, and drinking. She has always been more talkative than the rest. Is there something I should be looking for? I’ve never had a sick chick

I would make sure the other chicks aren't bullying her and that she gets enough food and water. You could also try feeding her raw egg yolks so she could get all the nutrients she needs along with her regular feed. Wish you the best.

Is she your only Brahma? Brahmas are slow growers.

Last summer I got two Brahmas that were already 2 weeks old along with the 6 newly-hatched chicks at the feed store. At first they towered over the other chicks, but after a couple weeks they seemed to be at the same developmental stage as their faster-growing little sisters and by 8 weeks looked to be lagging behind despite being older.

Yes she is

I added a photo so you can see how drastic the size difference is. All of them are 3 weeks old. 3 Mille Fleur Cochin Bantams, 2 lavender Americaunas, 1 lavender Orpington, and Little foot
