Little Giant Incubator flooring for guineas

Hi, I am new and my very first guinea eggs are due to hatch soon. It is day 23 and they are in the Little Giant with the auto egg turner. I candled them yesterday and feel like they might be a little further along. I was thinking about taking out auto turner today and hand turning until day 25 just in case. Once I do this, should I put something on the floor of the incubator to protect their legs? It is mesh floor, but wondered if it might be slippery for the guineas. I had read they can slip and hurt their legs easily. Thanks for your help and advice!

Most folks use that foam rubber mesh shelf liner stuff.
