Little Giant

Incubators are like cars. Everyone would love a rolls-royce, but can make do with a kia, ford or what have you.
I have hatched many chicks in a LG, with a high hatch rate. Anyone can that puts a little time in. Can you plug it in and 21 days later have little fuzzy butts? NO! Over the years I have learned that the less you touch it once it is set, the less troube you will have. Touchy is not word for them.
It takes time to learn to use. You can have fun with it and hatch many chicks with it or you can do like many and fiddle with it with eggs in it and kill every chick you try to hatch.
Since your wife went to the trouble of getting it for you, to keep peace in the family, learn to use it. Then show her every little fuzzy butt you hatch.

I have the still air and it cant keep the temps regulated for anything. Last year with bad hatches from my quail I bought a fan and made it a forced air circulated model myself. Since then hit holds temps steady and keeps humidity under control. The dial is sensitive and very small. What I find best is take some hot glue and a small wooden disc and attach it to the top so you have something to really dial it in with. After you adjust it make sure you give it enough time to either raise or decrese the temp. Last year after doing so I was hatching 30-40 eggs every week and never had more than 8 not hatch. I staggered the hatchings for this. I also have a hova bator and I have better success with the LG personally.
