This chicken (I'm hoping it's a hen, but I'm not 100% sure,) showed up on my neighbor's doorstep and sat there all day. I have adopted her (unless we find the owner.) She is small, very calm and friendly, and lets my children handle her. She's got some feathers along the sides of her legs. She pecks our pet rabbits if they get near her, calmly but quite aggressively. An internet search let me to think she may be a Buff Columbian Rock Bantam, Buff Sussex Bantam, Buff Columbian Brahma Bantam, or a Buff Brahma Bantam. What do you all think, and can you tell me any facts about the breed? This is our first chicken (but probably not our last; we LOVE her.) Thanks!

she's a pullet and is a lovely mix she looks like she is buff columbian in color and i am thinking she has cochin and some crested breed in her with that very small crest on her head. she looks like she maybe laying as well. you really need to find another bantam pullet/hen to go with her since chickens are a flock animal they need to at least be in pairs.

Awesome! I felt pretty sure she was a hen. We plan to get a second one, once we're sure we can't find her owner.

I didn't see the crest, time for me to get new glasses, lol

FYI, my bird is in fact a pullet, almost ready to lay, and a mixed breed -- bantam buff brahma and serama, supposedly. I managed to find her owner and returned her to him. We are sorry to see her go, but plan to get more chickens in the near future. Thanks for all of your comments.
