Little help, soon to be quail owner, help me learn to raise them!

I have 9 garden beds, 4 of which are occupied by quail. When I harvest, I move quail on to the harvested bed. I leave the bed they just left for a couple of months to compost down, then plant. They rotate through my beds.
I think I might try that

what state are you in? If you are in Texas do you have any good quail hatcheries that sell day old chicks?

Eating quail eggs might help lower cholesterol, they likely won’t make it worse😉. You need a reason, how about the ability to cut recipes in half or even quarter them when they call for 1 egg. Or imagine tiny deviled eggs (if you have the patience to peal them!). Just the cuteness factor alone is a great reason!

Also, on the feather sexing thing, in theory you can do it at 3 weeks but my first batch kept their baby spots until 3.5 weeks. I had 4 brown hens (out of five birds) that all decided to be boys a few days later. Oops! They are a ton of fun, even with our occasional mistakes, enjoy!

I wanted to add that LDL is the bad form of cholesterol, not HDL. Like the other respondents, I don't know that eating quail eggs will reduce LDL, but anecdotally, I've been raising quail for 2 years and have eaten very few chicken eggs, but lots of quail eggs in that time.Until recently, I'd been unmedicated since 2021 (had differences of opinion with my primary care physician and my cardiologist and fired both). My HDL and LDL are good. My triglycerides are a bit elevated, but that's been the bane of my entire life even since my 20s.
I raise jumbo wild coturnix and can generally sex them at 3 weeks, but I did have one male fool me in my first hatch.
I'm in the Dallas area (ignore my user name, I haven't moved to Clifton, yet). If you're near, I'd be willing to set some eggs and sell you the resulting day old chicks at $3 each. I think that's the going rate on Craig's List. There are a lot of quail keepers in Texas so you should be able to find someone nearby.
