Today is day 20 and I woke up to three pips. The little unit looses 1.5 degrees at night as my house cools. I don't have central heating in use but use a propane wall unit. It works pretty well but the temp drops two to 3 degrees in the house at night. Last night was a bad one for sleep due to dogs needing to go out so I was able to adjust for the drop at 2 am.

I am not sure I would want to go for the full 21 days in this type of unit but it has worked like a charm for me now and in the past.

What do you mean by not want to go the full 21 days with this type of unit? I thought that was the incubation period and if your incubating that is what you need to go unless your temps have been low then it may take a little longer. If you know of a way to shorten incubation I'm sure there are a lot of people here who would love to know!

Good Luck to you on those eggs just turn as often as you can. Are you turning by hand or tilting the incubator from side to side? Using a piece of wood under one side and then the other works to turn the eggs too.

I have holes cut out in the bottom of egg cartons, and putting 2x4 blocks under ends and alternating them. Speckledhen gave me the idea, or i'd be turning 36 eggs by hand
