That's what I call it. A quick weekend project, about 10 hours to build and $100. Its based off the Egg Factory on Backyardchickens coops. We used PVC corrugated roofing to keep it light and ease of building. Panels are removeable on one side. We need to put the wheels on and give it a paint job, but its chicken inhabitable. Thanks to this site for the inspiration!

Here is a short list of materals in case anyone wants to build something similar. We recovered some cedar out of a construction dumpster (long boards for handles and most of the trim). So that reduced the cost some.

Qty 3: 2x4x8 treated: used for base

Qty 3: 2x4x8 studs, ripped in half: used for a frame and floor supports

Qty 1: 15/32 plywood 4x8 sheet: used for floor, end caps, ladder.

Qty 2: 1x6x10 cedar: used for handles/trim

Qty 1: 1x6x8 : used for roof cap

Qty 2: 1x4x8: used for trim and frame peak.

Qty 2: 2x4x8 PVC Corrugated panels

Metal Hardware cloth, 3 pairs of hinges, two latches, 3/4" long pole barn screws, #10x1-1/4, and #10x2-1/2 screws.

I built this coop so I could relocate my chickens to my parents house. They have some foxes that hang around every year.

Would anyone recomend putting welded wire on the bottom of the tractor or how about an apron? I'd like to keep the tractor mobile so wire on the bottom may be best. Anyone have any comments on this?
