Hi everyone. I have a little d'uccle roo, named little loon, with some troubles.... about 3 weeks ago he was sitting in the food dish eatting and my MUCH bigger russian orloff roo jumped into the dish and nailed the d'uccle. It was not an intentional attack, my orloff was excited that I had just filled the dish. The poor little d'uccle was knocked silly. He rolled over a few times and just laid on his back. I picked him up right away and held him for a few minutes until he wasn't dizzy anymore and I let him go back to the flock and he seemed fine. A few days later I noticed his left wing drooping and over the past 2 weeks he's lost his sense of balance. Up until 3 days ago he could wobble walk but now if he isn't leaning on me or a wall he can't stand. His left wing drags and he can't use it, his left leg is hard for him to control, and his head tilts slightly to the left like he's confused. I have to hold him up to move around and make sure he can get food and water. Its almost like he had a stroke... he's not crowing anymore but he's talking to me and doesn't seem to mind my "physical therapy" to keep his left side from going stiff. Does anyone else think this is nerve damage or brain trama? What can I do to help bring him around? I know it will take a looooong time, I'm just not sure what to do aside from his vitamins and current therapy. I love this little bird. Please help.
