this is my first time raising turkeys and I was wondering how long they need to be under a heat light. we live in ohio and this years weather has been crazy. I was just wondering what the temp needs to be before I start letting them go outside. Oh they are only two weeks old today broad breasted bronze. any advice would be great.

Until they are fully feathered out at least. This may be in as little as six weeks to as much as eight. The weather has a lot to do with this. If it's warm and dry then closer to six weeks. If it's damp, rainy, cool, and especially damp AND cool then eight weeks.

If you're feeding a proper high-protein gamebird feed they'll feather out faster than on a lower protein more general poultry ration.

thank you so very much. I do have them on 28% turkey starter. It is medicated and was not really crazy about that but here in my neck of the woods that was all that was available. any body know how long they should be on that type of feed.
