Because I want to make sure I don't go buying all of southern states chicks....which can happen. I figured out a few of the breeds and when they get them and how many..WOW. I plan on getting:
Buff Brahma-1
Dark Brahma-1
Barred Rock-1
Red Sexlink-1

The IF List(if they get these)
Speckled sussex-1
Partridge Rock-1

I was going to get some bantams but I don't think I will.

I might get some mallards for my little brother too. My mom says NO Ducks but my dad is giving in....
 
Yeah you should really come over Becca! I'll ask my momma. If you can. I wont have anything to do all day. And Erin I'm usually bored on the weekends all the time too. And yeah what breeds do you plan on adding to your flock? Do you mean just some chicks from southern states?

Oh southern states has brahmas? I haven't been there for chicks in idk,, two or three years. That's funny, my uncle used to raise nothing but speckled Sussex and partridge rocks. I think I want to order delawares from joletabey and then get a few (les than six) chicks from southern states. Thenmim going to try and find a breeder for welsh harlequins, they're of critical status and I think they're super pretty. I think the females are prettier though.

Oh okay. I have to keep my numbers under 30. It's so much work and money. Especially when you are buying feed 2-4 times a month. That's a lot of bags of feed a year! And a lot of time and money goes towards medications and there is an egg withdrawel so I cannot sell eggs. My breeding isn't going well because I just can't seem to get the hatching part down for various reasons. So I am keeping my numbers to 30 and under. I only have 21 right now. More birds would mean more money, more work and more health issues. And my chickens are more so pets than a business.
I care more about their health and happiness than anything.
