So I am looking for a place to buy livestock/poultry I have been going around to like jockey lots and flea markets they don't sell animals I know where a lot of livestock auctions are but is there places like livestock markets kinda like flea markets but they sell animals instead of stuff? I am not smart enough to understand those auctioneers lol and they seem very unhealthy. I live in Greenville SC if you know anywhere local

if its an auction you would have the opportunity usually to go around and check out the animals before the auction to look for any obvious illnesses or problems. You would have to register and get a number to be able to bid then just pay close attention. Maybe you could just go and observe the first time.

I was just at the jockey lot today in Anderson/Belton SC. They had a few stalls of chickens, though some of their grown birds were a bit rough looking. There were some good looking chicks, though the guy selling them doesn't really seem to know too much about what he has.

I would suggest looking in the market bulletin, I know SC has one as well as Ga. They list poultry sales as well as many ads from individuals who have birds for sale. I personally like to buy from individuals, usually a little less like salesmen, as well as being able to see the conditions in which the birds have been raised.
