I'd just change a few words. My version:

All my life it's been my contention that anything worth doing can and should be done WITH a member of the feminine persuasion.

(giving birth, laying eggs, brooding eggs, PMS, and laundry excluded)

You win! Whatever was I thinking?

Naw, we all win. I don't have nearly the command of the English language or the
classy tone as you.

I love my silkies! My hen has set twice this summer! She is a great momma My rooster is great too he keeps an eye on the eggs when she would get up to drink or eat. He also helped her raise the first eggs she hatched this time around I decided to move him once the eggs started hatching. Due to his size last time he stepped on one chick and broke his foot. (The chick that is) As of now all I own is silkies!

What a great description.

I did like the little banty mutt hens. They looked like chickens, just a little smaller. They were good brooders, so good four wanted to brood at the same time in the same box. They could see where they were going, they didn't need their topknots trimmed or tied up in bows.
