It has been a while since I posted. We are the ones that built the small cottage to retire in and live "the simple life". Our coop is now finished, and we are putting a few finishing touches on the house before winter. We bought 5 New Hampshire Reds, and 3 Road Island Reds. The New Hampshires picked on the Road Islands at first, but they all seem to have settled in now and are happy. From the 8 hens we have averaged 6 eggs a day. Nice big brown eggs. The neighbors, friends and family are loving us! lol. But, we have managed so save a few for our selves too. Here are some pics of what we have been up to:
