Is that a separate brooder to the right with the bigger chick in it?

No, it's all one brooder. To the right, is a 24 x 36 double door dog crate (wire top) attached to the x pen. The chick in there is an Aisian Black. I have 2 of them, they are a little bigger than the rest of my chicks, but the same age, about 3.5 weeks yesterday.

The children did eggcellent sleeping in the big girl house without their heat source. Of course they were in a separate area in the hen house for safety. My big girls can be ruthless with new comers. The girls did not pay any mind to them. I started putting them outside in the yard with the adults in their enclosed pen so they would get use to seeing it and them. So far so good
