Living with MG

..........What make MG dangerous is the second infections called E Coli which kill the birds it is this infection which cause fever s which is deadly.....
The vet at the testing facility confirmed what De Wet said: He said that MG in a lot of cases doesn't cause any symptoms and that it is only in combination with coryoza or e. coli or some other thing like infectious bronchitis that it becomes chronic respiratory disease. (CRD) People attribute the symptoms to MG but in reality it is the combination that is the problem. The vet actually said that if I had no symptoms that I shouldn't worry about it. He didn't seem concerned about it at all.

I DO want to know so I am going to do the blood test. getting someone to help is the problem. There are no Veterinarians in this area that DO poultry. so I am going to ask my dog vet to help me. and I don't want to impose on any of my friends because they already think I am crazy with liking chickens so much. (they are all into cats) and the husband is already putting up with this crazy thing...don't want to push him into dealing with frightened chicken flapping.

Ironically it might be cheaper for me to do this if I do it through the NPIP program.(subsidies or something) go figure.

Just to say, Coccidia is naturally found in the intestines of poultry and other creatures. It is when the chicks living conditions get messy that Coccdia becomes an issue. It's sort of like mites and puppies. Their immune system is fully developed to fight a out break of skin mites, which are naturally on the puppy. That's how puppies end up with mange. Coccidia is a parasite that gets out of control which leads to the issues.
