Hi all,

Thanks for the advise I got for u all about my "girls" eating their eggs....
Blew an egg out & filled the shell with VERY hot English mustard.....little buggers ate it !!!
so...Crushed up shell & mixed it with bird seed....?????

Cause that didn't work..

Please any more ideas...will try anything. Some days I only get 1 out of 8....:mad:

Try making the nest box as dark as possible. Apparently hens like to see what they are eating.
Have you tried doing a search? Click on search and put in 'egg eating' and see what comes up. There is loads of good advice on this site and I found useful pictures of curtains for nest boxes to make them darker.
 
I've heard golfballs and fake eggs help. Apparently not being able to crack them, helps them stop? I would think they would go around pecking until they found one that cracked, but with some things, chickens aren't the brightest of God's creation.

Try filling an egg with pine tar, it works for stopping pecking eachother, why not eggs? Just make sure wherever you put it, you can clean it up. If you put it in a nest put ALOT of shavings, that way when they bust it, you can later clean out the nest.
