Day 6 and 7

Working on soffit blocking and alignment of warped roof framing wood. Complete roof framing.

Day 8

Today I installed the Smart Paneling on walls and the roof plywood. I still have to complete the nailing of both and install the door frame, cut the opening for the window. I’m still thinking about pull-up door for the chicken run and large screened openings for more light and ventilation. The roof will have a layer of 15# felt paper and corrugated metal. So far I have done everything by myself, not bad for a 69 year old.

This is the FIRST time I have ever build anything out of wood.

Still have some trim detail to complete and then paint.

Wonderful coop - congratulations! I have just started a nearly identical coop - 8X12 - and am at the floor stage - looks much like your first pic! I really enjoyed watching yours progressing, and you have given me a few ideas too. Thanks a lot!
