Loads of Questions

Just throwing this out there but, how do you get that little subscript at the bottom of each of your posts CluckyCharms? (the part that says: "Chickmama to a spangled hamburg, welsummer, mille-fleur and silkie)

If you click on the brown Profile tab up top, and scroll nearly down to the bottom of that page, you should see the red title "Your Forum Signature" look over to the right of that (on the same line) and you'll see a little pencil icon next to a link that says "Edit Signature". =)

Found it! Thanks a bunch!

We are in California so the sun is actually still out. The one that got a bit of a chill yesterday was because she bathed herself in the water and the wind was blowing. Then last night it wasn't just her 'crop' that was bloated. Down by her vent there appears another soft bloating. Then this morning bloody feces and actual smell. The little droppings looked like good hamburger from store. Like red and short. So, if I don't swallow my tongue with an anxiety attack, we are going to get some medicine.

so sorry to hear this. :( I hope your chick gets well soon! I haven't a clue what chickpoop is supposed to look like, but mine are 'wormlike' in consistency - and greenish brown (kind of like an olive green/marbled tan look). Please keep us updated!

I had checked that, but the ones we were seeing were firm, but red. Yesterday, looked like hamburger meat. Today, I still have to clean brooder, but smell strong and stinky. As they age, does their feces smell worse? They had some mealworms yesterday, does that make feces smell different?

Well when we got our babies they did lay down flat like you explained. I wouldn't worry about them drinking too much water however don't be suprised when you see really runny poop. As for them being really hot our were pretty warm for the first couple of weeks too. if their trying to find shade from the light a lot i would try turning down the haet a bit.
