Local farmers using chicken litter

This is from our area paper... at least they aren't using chemicals, but some folks just don't get it.

That was almost word for word like a story in our own local paper as well awhile back. Same scenario.

The saddest part of all this is that the manure is probably from commercial chicken 'warehouses' and is full of antibiotics and such. So, maybe not the best thing for the environment.

I get mad at Mom because she won't let her fields be fertilized with chicken manure, but then she uses round-up all over the yard and around the pond.

Articles like this make me angry! People are silly. Lets just import all our food from China so our back yards don't smell for 3 days a yr. un

When I was in high school, in the band, we would be out practicing first thing in the morning and across from our school in East Texas there was a huge ranch that used chicken manure. Man, it really smelled. Especially first thing in the morning, but they had the prettiest place around. Yeah, chickens.
