So, i finally located the nest up high in my neighbors tree plus due to no dogs or threats..i knew a hawk got it due Witnessing one in middle of act in the beginning of fall last year and i looked out window two days ago, due to hens making loud disturbing noise, and bam a cooper hawk on ny fence outside my window.

I quit feeding birds & took my birdfeeders down last year and i have heard hanging old cds helps keep them away awa! any other methods that have worked for you all?

I cant afford anything but when i have extra money after holidays, i intend on making a chunnel for my bantys.

Nothing I have ever done other than fully enclosing my birds has protected them from the Cooper's hawks. They are as 'kill' focused as feathered weasels.
I figured sadly.
I will just have to build a chunnel.
I have my serama&sebright in coop i wont let them out but aren't crammed or anything but i was shocked cooper hawks are not big my polish/silkie mix.is taller and bigger than the cooper hawk i have witnessed two orheck maybe its same one from last yeayear. They look evil!
LOL but my two precious banty EE girls would fly across yard each time they see me or if they were to get startled they would fly low all the way to destination and i read they will capture birds in mid flight, so that is probably why he got both of them extra flighty banty eastereggers were easiest targets for it..
