It’s my first time hatching chicken eggs and I have been hatching the eggs in an incubator for 18 days now. Yesterday I put the eggs into lock down and waiting for it to hatch. However, three days ago I was given two duck eggs and I put it into the same incubator. The question and concern I have is, since I need to manually turn the duck eggs now, is it ok to open the incubator for 1-5 seconds to turn the duck eggs? If I do will it effect the chick hatching?

You'll be fine. It's open longer than that usually when grabbing hatched babies. Just try to bump humidity before you do it so they don't lose as much

Thank you for your reply, then what would be the ideal humidity?

I don't think you need to turn the duck eggs if its just a few days. When the chicks hatch, they will kick it around like a football anyway.
