Lock Down Question

I've seen on here that someone mentioned using an egg carton during the lock down stage, with the bottoms cut out so there is plenty of air flow.

My eggs aren't staying very stable and I'd like to pop them into a carton for stability because I found two eggs that had rolled the wrong way and drowned the chicks which were pipping.

So my question is does the air bubble of the egg point upwards?

I also cut the individual sections out so they are more like rings and try to lean them on their sides as natural as possible, but otherwise, yes, air sac up.
