Lockdown approaching-final questions

Apparently I can't count....Lockdown was supposed to be tomorrow but 2 chicks just hatched!! Thankfully, I heard them chirping in shell last night and raised humidity. I awoke this morning to 2 pips and as of right now, I have 2 hatched and 3 with pips. It happened so fast!

One has a big comb (atleast it looks to me), I think it's probably a roooster already. Oh well.
Oh wow. What day did you set them?

Nevermind, I went back and looked...lol

By my calculations, if you were going to do lockdown for day 18 going by the first group set, today would have been lockdown.

I dated them when my neighbor brought them to me, 5 were set 5/9 and 7 were set 5/10. I really didn't think my temp was overly high, never over 38.1. Mostly I tried to keep it 37.5 with humidity 40-45%. The eggs that hatched were on the smaller side so that is the only thing I can think of that contributed to the early hatch. I was also told that I could have had a crappy thermometer. During the incubation period, it did not seem overly warm inside though.

Also, they were set the day they were laid.

And yes, Amy, I was going to lockdown tonight.

As of that post, I now have 3 hatched. Another one is partially hatching as well. All seem healthy and are moving around.

As long as they are healthy, that's the important thing. Smaller eggs are known to develop faster, so it is a possibility, day 18 is still quite early even with that consideration. If the thermometer hasn't been checked, that is a possibility as well.
Congrats on the chicks!! I guess they just really wanted to see you!! lol

Thank you! Out of the 12 eggs, 10 were full term and are peeping and driving me crazy with the noise. Everyone came out of the shells moist but not wet or stuck. They are eating and drinking well. I love that they fall asleep in a pile and one will jump on the pile wake everyone up. Here is most of them.

See you on the next batch (lol)!
