Today is day 14 for my eggs. I did an amateur/fast as possible candling. 15/50 appear to be duds, and 1 cracked at some point (either during shipping or I did it and didn’t notice). I’d say it took me 10 minutes. I panicked when adding water. Currently humidity is 90% lol,but I assume it will drop some.

Question though. In my incubator manual,it says to remove to remove dry chicks ASAP,but I thought I wasn’t supposed to because it could “shrink wrap” other not-hatched chicks. Thought?

Eeekkkkk 90 is too high.

I remove chicks when they are up and moving around well.

I know, but I just had it incubator open for awhile. Should I try to siphon some out? The manual said to fill trough #1 and #2. I suspected it would be too much, but did it anyways.

What incubator?
Wait 30 minutes and see what it's at.

I can't imagine it going down that much though from 90%.
Has your humidity gauge been salt tested?

I usually wait 24 hours from when the first quail hatches until I open the incubator and get the dry ones out. I've waited longer before. I've had issues with shrink wrapped ones before and this eliminates most of that. This is just what I do....

Remember hatcheries ship day old chick's across the country without food or water. Then can last several days on the yolk they've absorbed....
