lockdown help-- lousy timing!

I filled the incubator with 40 EEs ( my own) on Monday April 5 at 9 pm.
Talk about ignoring a hatch:
Honestly, I haven't candled more than 2 eggs over a week ago. I did see veining in those two.
I just came back from a week's vacation and all seems the way I left it.
Lockdown is coming BUT.....I need to be away from home tomorrow( Friday) from noon to Saturday at least noon.
WHEN should I do lockdown?
Part of me wants to just candle tonight yet ( yawn) and go into lockdown, but I an not sure I can maintain high humidity while I am gone. ( Humidity was a problem with my last hatch.) Since all seems steady, can I safely ignore everything until Saturday afternoon, or will I have chicks starting to hatch by then?

HELP!!
( please skip the lectures, it's been an absolutely crazy three weeks)

Funny! I set my batch on Monday, April 5 at 5 pm.

Common wisdom of the board says that if you set Monday night, Day 1 is Tuesday. If you set on a Tuesday, you finish on a Tuesday, so I'm planning on locking down sometime on Saturday. I'd imagine you'd do just fine locking down on Saturday when you get home.

Now.... I suppose I really SHOULD candle tonight because I won't have a chance to before Saturday.
Do I want to know?
Maybe I should just sniff to see if anything is rotten in Denmark. I really have NOT opened the bator, looked over the eggs, or ANYTHING to this group- and it's been sitting on a table in my living room!

Go on lockdown Friday as if it was planed that way. When you leave be sure your humidity is no higher than 65% and check when you get home. DON'T EVEN THINK OF USING THE BATH ROOM, check the humidity.

I would also do lockdown on Friday as this is your day 18 it might be at 9pm that night but it is still day 18. I don't pay attention to the time I put them in as I do the day. If I put them in on a Monday day 21 is a Monday. That way if the eggs have developed faster since the bator was left alone and eggs not removed for candleing they will be in lock down.

I reached thru the windows last nite and candled the few white eggs in the bunch. Tossed 3 , put 2 back. After looking at those, I'm going to hold my breath and lockdown Saturday. I think my temps have been a bit low, rather than high, so I am hoping the development will be a bit longer. I had such a humidity control problem on my first try, that I want to be here and babysit the higher humidity as I bring it up.
On the bright bright side, it appears my splash orp has gone broody!! ***happy dance***
Now to find some fertile eggs- I switched roos a month ago!
