We went in to lockdown yesterday and now the humidity and temp are unstable. Haven't had any problems until last night.
Humidity fluctuates between 60 and 85%, temp is more stable with only small fluctuations. I am so afraid that the chicks won't hatch...
any imput?????

Anyone? Do you think there is hope? What are the min and max numbers for humidity during lockdown?

Thanks

This is my first time hatching but mine has been running 70 - 80 percent and I just had one break out of the egg and walking around and chirping up a storm. I have 5 more that are piped.
Hope this helps a little not trying to give any advice this is my first time and seems to be working with this humidity.

My humidity ran between 62-75 and I had 22/24. I'm not sure what incubator you're using, but my lg still air took a couple of hours to stabalize after I added water. I've learned to make a change and then leave it alone for at least 4-6 hours before trying to make anymore adjustments.

the chicks will cause the temp to go up and down so don't adjust too much, it will stabilize. If the moisture is too high (steamy, dripping_ then you can remove one of the plugs on the top. It should be okay, good luck!

I think you are ok with the humidity. Make sure your vents are open. You have to have ventilation or you will have problems. 60% isn't that low, and once a chick hatches the humidity will go up as they dry. Just give it a little while and it will probably stabilize, just like someone else posted. Positive thoughts coming your way.

Thanks for the replies

Apparently I cannot count and we aren't actually due to hatch until Sunday

As of right now the humidity is hovering right
around 60 and the temp is pretty steady. I keep peeking through the little windows just to see if there is any change at all, but the
eggs are still just laying around LOL

Chickenfried and kittymomma, I am so glad your hatches turned out good. I am just nervous since this is my first

Anyway, I will update as things start to happen around here...oh and I have an LG still air too.

Mine is a LG still air. My lockdown runs between 55% 75% and I usually have 90% 100% hatch rates!! Good luck and have fun! If this is your first, get ready! You won't be able to stop!! This is my 4th just this year!! HHahhahahaaa!!!
