Lockdown Questions

So I just put some eggs on lockdown. I have a few questions about this process...

~What is a pip and a zip?..I've heard people talk about it but have no idea what these terms mean.
~Today as I was taking them out of the turner today to lay them on their sides, there was a rotten egg in the incubator that I had no idea was in there. It stank really bad and when I picked it up, it basically busted. Will this affect the good eggs at all?
~After the chicks hatch, when do I need to take them out of the incubator?
~I have two eggs that I put in later than the others. They are due to hatch 4-5 days later than these. Will the high humidity affect them? And how often do I need to turn them?

A pip is when they break through the membrane (internal pip) or the shell (external pip). Zipping is when they're actually in the process of removing the shell to make their way out.

It might, or might not. Did the rotten contents get on the eggs? If it was in the incubator, did you clean it up? Honestly, since they're almost ready to hatch, I think they'll be okay.

Thats entirely up to you. Some folks remove chicks as they hatch and dry. Others don't take them out until the hatch is complete. Usually about 24hrs after the first chick hatches.

Again, they may be okay, or the high humidity might mess them up. That depends a lot on how your air cells are doing/whether they're loosing the proper amount of moisture before they were locked down early. I wouldn't turn them, just lock them down with the others and At this point they're moving around on their own, so no danger of sticking to the shell.
