Lockdown with an Egg Rotater?

I've put in eggs from different sources in the incubator 4 days apart. I wanted to get everyone's opinion it pulling the egg rotater/roller out a necessity or not. I know its not needed, but I haven't heard much on potential negative effects of keeping it in. The only problem I can see is newborn problems. Does anyone have an opinion or experience with this?

It seem everyone stops the rotator at lockdown. Whether you pull it out or not is your choice. Each incubator may be different. When your soonest batch goes into lockdown mode, I would certainly stop the rotator. The 4 day later crowd should be OK with that.

I agree it's probably better to at least stop the turner. Mine suggest to take the turner out and lay the eggs on thier side. But thing is once the chicks start hatching they bump into and fall over the eggs so much that it would really make very little difference for the egg if the turn was on or off. However i could see a few possible issues with the turner in place (on or off). 1 newly hatched chicks are unbalanced and clumsy, I would fear them get stuck or trapped in the turner. 2 the turner (in mine at least) brings the overall floor very high, like to the piont a newly hatched chick could touch the heater.
3 ok well there was a 3 but now I can't remember.

Is not difficult to take the turner out and the late eggs will get all the movement th ery could possibly need from the hatchlings. But if your worried you could wait possibly just 1 more day and keeping the turner on. That way the late eggs have 1 more day in the turner and the early eggs should be just fine with the extra time as the turns move at a rather slow rate anyways
