Hi all! My eggs are now in lockdown (day 18). So the thermometer was in the water somehow (I honestly have no idea how it got there). Since it was in the water, it was saying the temp was 99.0 and I was thinking that the incubator would try to get the heat boosted even though it was way above 99.0. I feared that it would raise the temp too high and damage the chicks. So, I opened the incubator and pulled the thermometer out of the water. It was open for about 12 seconds. The temp was most likely only a little down and the humidity was 68% (it was only like that for about 2 min). Will this damage the eggs in any way? I hope not!
