Lockdown.

Lockdown is a newly coined term here for the last three days. I've always called it Intense Bator Watch (IBW), at least in the past couple years. Anytime on day 18, when you stop turning the eggs and up the humidity is considered, well, the last three days.

The term is newly coined? But it is so apt!! I thought it had been around forever and that I just happened to learn it here.

The reason it's so apt is that it reflects the importance of leaving the incubator SHUT during those critical last days, to prevent the egg membranes from drying out during the hatch. It is SO hard to leave it shut, that it feels like you practically have to lock it down.
