Well I locked down batch one and batch two last night. I see at least one egg is "rocking" back and forth like the chick is trying to get out. The rest are just hanging out and not moving. Should I be concerned about their viability? It would suck so badly that out of 21 eggs which candled well on Sunday that I only have one hatch properly. How long should I wait?

On the plus side, everyone is getting excited and loves

this one egg work. DH wants so badly to crack them and get the little chickies started.

I guess all I can do on these two batches is pull the red ventilator plugs so they get the air they need and hope for the best.

NO TOUCHIE!!! If today is only Day 19, absolutely DO NOT go in there and help! Give them a chance to hatch, you've got plenty of time. I will only help if it's been more than 24 hours from external pip with no progress. Be patient:)

I refuse to let anybody do anything but look in the little clear windows! DH almost had a stroke on me today because I went to Tr@ctor $upply and bought a brooder tub, light, feed, waterer, and bedding. Whaddya gonna do?

I can totally relate Laura. Tomorrow is lockdown and the kids were so excited to get things ready for the chicks that we had to set up the brooder with nesting shavings, light etc. etc.. I felt like I was jinxing the whole thing and had to keep telling myself that I don`t actually have that much power over the universe (my DH`s words
