out of about 40 eggs i have 6 that are devloping good. i just put them into lockdown and increased the humidity to 70-75%. i have the hova bator genisis 1588 and the temp has been 99.5-100 the entire 18 days. well when i set the eggs into lockdown and increased the humidity the temp went up to 101,has not gone higher then that. my question is why did the temp go up? i thought that as air temp decreased humidity increased??

It does rise slightly sometimes as the chicks generate a bit of body heat now

what is the best way to increase the humidity while on lock down?

im on day 19 and humidity started to drop, from 75% down to 65%.

65% is plenty damp enough. Some of us don't even go that high. When the chicks start pipping and hatching, the humidity comes up on its own.

ok,thanks. that takes some of the worries away..

if the humidity does drop to below an acceptable percentage, will it hurt to lift the lid to set in a wet sponge?
