Update,,4 chicks now and 3 more pips. One of the chicks hatched from chickenstalker is a lavender ameraucana. Wahoooooooo

Congrats on the new babies!! I didn't think anything was going to happen here, but then there was a pip.. and then 2. I had 2 beautiful splashes hatch, then last night watched as the most precious splash worked so diligently and finally made the hatch. As I watched, I was thinking about all of these people who just love hatching chicks, and that is why. The miracle of life. The incredible zest we have to live... so beautiful. Then this morning, a tiny little black/blue baby hatched. Tiny!!

. One left, no sign of a pip. This is only day 22 though. I am leaving the little ones i the bator and going to give until tomorrow a.m. before I move them out. I SO want this last one to make it. My little ones should be okay for 48 hours anyway. Congrats to all

Ok got 9 chicks so far. 4 are from chickenstalker,,2 of those are lavender ameraucanas and the other two of them are black easter eggers,,then I have 5 silkies. I have other eggs in there no pips or anything. This is day 23. I have a dozen Golden comet eggs and not one has hatched. I never candled as the two times I tried I didn't know what I was doing. I am beginning to wonder if I am even going to have 1 golden comet. I bought the eggs off ebay. How long do you leave eggs in the incubator? Pics coming later today after we have had our coffee.

I would keep them in a couiple more days just to be safe. You never know. Maybe till day 25 or 27.

What about the chicks that are still in the incubator with the unhatched eggs? I have read all the posts about not opening the incubator. At what point do you open and remove the chicks? And then do you suggest misting the remaining egg(s) and then closing back up? Thanks for the advice. I just really want my last egg to hatch
