Hi, I would like to share my experience with a recent ebay purchase, just to encourage you that there is justice :)
I recently bought Lohmann Brown hatching eggs from ebay UK. When I was buying them I explicitly indicated I only need the eggs if they arrive at the destination prior to August 25th (Sunday). The seller shipped them on Aug 23, Friday, at 6pm and they did not arrive on time. So I asked the seller for a refund as I practically did not need the eggs anymore. The seller refused and wrote "Ain't my fault British post is slow". So I opened a case with ebay and asked them to intervene and review the case. Well, yesterday I got my money back. Thanks God.
Now, if anyone knows how/where to get pure Lohmann Brown hatching eggs in Europe (Eastern Europe), please let me know.

Lohman Brown isn’t a breed, so you may have a hard time finding them, you definitely won’t get pure eggs as they’re a mix.

You’re best looking on sites like Facebook. I couldn’t find Modern Game hatching eggs anywhere in the UK until I went on Facebook and found a breed club.

Oh, so what is Lohman Brown then? A mix between Leghorns and something else? Thank you for the suggestion, I am not on Facebook though.. no time.. too many chicken and quail running around :)

It’s a red/gold sex link chicken. A red/gold sex link can be made by breeding any ‘red/gold’ rooster over any ‘silver’ hen. Usually the roosters used are Rhode Island Red or New Hampshire Red. The hens used can be Light Sussex, Silver Laced Wyandotte, White Leghorn, Delawares. These crosses produce female chicks that hatch buff coloured and male chicks that hatch white. Red sex links go by many names depending on your country and the breeds used to create them, some are: Golden Comets, Cinnamon Queens, Lohmam Browns, Shavers, Production Reds, Blacktail, Red Star - the list goes on. Red sex links (like any other mix) don’t breed true and you won’t be able to create sex linked chicks from them, offspring tend to be lower producing (in the egg department).

Sorry for such a long answer, lol. You could make your own sex links if you can keep roosters.

Thank you, this is enlightening. I do actually have White Leghorn hens and a RIR rooster, but they have never been able to produce fertile eggs. I know nothing about crossing chicken breeds.

I don’t breed chickens so I’m not too educated on that either, sorry.
