Lol - intro from another “new” member

Hi and welcome to BYC. Just use the search function and you should find a breed thread.

This is a useful link of BYC guides to take a look at announcements-feedback-issues-guides.3 I’d suggest including your location using the guide in that link. You can use this link to contact members in your area - Find your State's thread.

Best wishes

Awesome! Thanks for that info. Figuring out how to "reply" today. I was very surprised to see so many comments on my Newbie thread. Awww shucks, lovely, friendly group.

109 chickens! :th .Morgan horses!! :love . Would love to see some photos of the Morgan's. WELCOME! Wait...of your favorite chicken too. :p
I will once I figure out how to "load" a photo, which won't happen today though.

Yes - a bunch of varieties. It's great for the kids to be able to see how they breeds are different and helps them learn to differentiate for various characteristics. The banties are all new last year - I finally broke down and said "ok" to the kid's requests. They love the banties the most. I am certain that 90% of our chickens all have individual names and my kids can tell you each of those names. LOL!

:welcome

What a big flock you have! You must be flooded with eggs most every day.

It's nice to have you here, thanks for joining us!

Thank you for the welcome:)
Not generally flooded but "usually" enough to use for thank you's to neighbors, teachers, friends and ones to sell (for making up feed costs).

I've tried to keep the birds staggered as I've brought them in over the past few years, to try and prevent getting "flooded". I was aiming for a steady supply to take us through the winter and aiming at not having them all molt at one time. Plus, a number of the breeds we have are not the highest egg qty producers (on purpose). Finally, banty eggs? That's when we laugh because we're using 3 dozen for one breakfast round at our house. Lol:)
