lol...these broodies are hard work!

Okay, so after a few weeks of playing musical eggs and hens trying to take over boxes and then all 3 deciding to go broody...my first broody hatched out her 4 eggs yesterday.

So now the hen next to her has decided that chicks look like more fun than eggs. When I got home from work today she had abandoned her nest box and had 3 of the chicks under her.

Are the eggs done for now? Should I toss them or put them under broody #3 even tho the hatch dates are a week apart? How do I get her to stop taking the other birds chicks?


I didn't realize this broody business was so much work!

Keep each broody enclosed in their own pen or cage, and they won't be playing musical eggs/chicks.
