lone chicken

We got 3 baby chickens and very sadly 2 have gone...& there is one left. I think maybe a snake got her sister yesterday She seems really sad, in that she chirps a lot more than before all the time if no one is around near her little house at our back door, and when we (me & my 2x 2yr old boys) sit with her, she stops chirping, seemingly happier...I'm sure she is lonely, and we will get more chickens as soon as we can(a few days away), to join her. (we have 15 but they're too big for her to join I think) I'm not sure how old she is but she is about 10-15cm tall. Will she be ok? It's really hard to spend peaceful time with her because 2yr olds are crazy & keep me too busy...

Maybe you could keep her in a dog carrier and put her in with the other chickens. Chickens are very social animals and don't like to by them selves very much, I think this might help
