Lone duckling help

I have a one week old duckling. She’s the only one who survived after my surrogate hen killed the others. I have her inside and she has clearly imprinted on me. The problem is she needs to go outside to be with my flock.
How do I transition her to outside and not worry about her being killed by my chickens or ducks? Have I created a monster?

I think she needs to be older before full integration takes place. But, you could set her up in a nice pen and let her out for brief periods in sight of the others until she is ready.

May I suggest that you find a duckling buddy about the same age? That will make integration a little easier when the time comes.

I thought the same thing so I tried to find some in my area but no luck.

Metzer has mixed ducklings and a minimum of 2.

Yes and also Facebook marketplace. Bad timing I guess.

A 1 week old duckling will not survive out with mature chickens and ducks. She needs to be brooded and introduced slowly as she grows up then once she is adult size she should be accepted easier by the flock.
