Hi, I have a lone goose in our yard along with a flock on the other side. The flock will not let the lone goose any where near them. He looks very healthy but I feel soooo bad for him. I also have what looks like a couple in the pond, this morning the lone goose went for a swim and I guess it was the Male of the couple went after him!!! He had to go under the water to escape about 7 times. Does anyone know why hes alone and why the flock doesn't want him? Im So worried about him.

Poor goose.... maybe he needs his own mate?

That happens during breeding season sometimes it's an extra gander who gets chased off sometimes females. They are very territorial about their mates too that is why the gander went after the loner in the pond. Only thing you can do is let it play out and hopefully once breeding season is over it will be let back in the gaggle. Are these Canada geese?
