My plan was to take pics yesterday when I got home from work but I was called to the farm emergency room to perform bumblefoot surgery on one of my chickens and the surgery lasted longer than I expected and I was totally exhausted after I was done. Hopefully, there aren't any more emergencies today. I will take a bunch of pics today.

My tom is doing ok. Thanks for asking . He still has the twisted neck. The vet says that it is permanent. He said that as long as my tom is eating, drinking, etc., then he will be ok. He is not in any pain nor is he suffering in any way but I'm still worried about him. I don't like seeing him this way, so I am still reading and researching and hoping that I come across a miracle cure. I read in one of the threads on BYC where a couple people have given their chickens Prednisone for wry neck and their chicken's wry neck went away. Some people tend to think that the twisted neck is an inflammatory problem. I asked the vet about it but he was reluctant to join that band wagon. I asked him if he could write a prescription for Prednisone and he said that if my Tom takes the Prednisone, then the Prednisone will weaken his immune system and open it up to getting another infection. I was like oh well.
But I won't give up. I'm really thinking that I will take my Tom to LSU School of Vet Medicine to see another avian specialist that is well known. When I take him to LSU, I will hope and pray that they can offer my Tom other options. I'm determined to try to fix him. I know many people are asking why I am spending so much money and time on this turkey when I can just cull him and be done with it. Well, it's just not that easy. This is my favorite animal on my little hobby farm, so I will do anything to help him as I would do for any of my other animals.
I'm crossing my fingers that there is a cure out there for my tom and I hope that there is. I know that he is not the only bird walking around with a twisted neck. I will continue to update everyone on my big boy.
