I have a young canadian goose that we have raised from just a tiny gosslling that just showed up in our yard. we looked all around for a nest, but didn't find any. We never did hear a mother looking either. She is very attached, as we are to her! We tried introducing her to the other canadian geese in the park and she wants NOTHING to do with them. I don't want her to be lonely so I wanted to get her a friend. Would ducks be ok or should I go with geese? Also, would a different breed of geese be ok? Would all females be ok? Not looking to have any fertilized eggs. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I have never owned any geese, ducks, or chickens.
Thank You

Hi Tab,
Friends seem like a good idea. I wish I could give you a more specific answer, but I don't have much experience with geese. I wanted to mention that (depending on where you live) you may need a permit to keep a Canada goose from the wild (Migratory Bird Treaty Act).

Good luck!

You can get another goose as geese have a mate they always stick with. In my opinion I don't think the breed matters.
