Debbie's comment is the best advise, I'd also add another person's suggestion on adding a handful chicks if anything else. Integrating adults is stressful on the flock and might turn into a bigger issue, adding chicks would be the safest bet imo.

Hello and welcome back to BYC!

Chickens do mourn the loss of good friends when they pass and sometimes it takes them months to come out of it. Adding a few new hens is fine however keep in mind this may not solve her loneliness, losses can change a birds' personality forever. If this is a recent loss, she may come around. If its been awhile she will probably remain distant. Best wishes with what ever you decide!

When I introduce new birds, I bring more new ones then older ones. I Have a rooster I am giving to a friend, but his flock is big so I am bringing 2.
