I've had chickens for almost two years and decided to adopt a few babies! I now have two 2 weeks olds & two one week olds. Yesterday I noticed that one of the younger babies is sleeping on its own and mostly stays separate from the others. When she tried to join in the sleep pile the others squeezed her out

. Is there anything I should be concerned about or is this normal?

I have a 1 year old Australorp, and a 3 month old Australorp. Both have them have been our "anti-social" chickens. They don't really socialize with the other birds and mostly stay on their own. But they are both happy and our older one is a great layer. If she isn't getting pecked on, I wouldn't be too concerned. Just like humans, birds all have their own personalities!

I am sure she just gets squeezed out of the prime spot but is still able to have a side against everyone else right? If they run her off completely then I would get her a stuffed animal so cuddle with but if it is just that she gets shoved to the outside of the huddle someone has to be on the outside so you have to let the heiarchy be what it is.

Thanks everyone!! Yes she can join in on the outside but mostly she opts to be by herself! I'm going to give them a little more time & hopefully things will get better!
