I had some quail 2 & 3 year old breeders some had long curved beaks. I thought they might need trimmed so they could eat better. I placed a flint rock inside the cage for them to whittled down their beak on. I never noticed theor beaks getting shorter or seen any peck at the rock.
Has anyone placed stones in there cages for this reason?

nope but that is the cause of the beaks is age and not getting to naturally peck at things I assume your birdies are in raised wire cages? If so theres some things you could do but the easiest one would just be to trim the beak a few cms

That's the way you'd see the fastest change....otherwise a biiig ole sand bath area continuously in their cage with maybe pea gravel

They love to pick throught that stuff....the only thing is I highly doubt it makes a drastic diff but they surely will love it!

What i do to my quail and chickens when their beak is long i take one of those landscaping stones. Like the really rough one and i lay it done in their coop and they trim their own beak down themselves. I've even seen my chickens sand their nails down a couple times lol.
