My 23 week old ISA Brown girl started acting strange late yesterday. She is usually always first to gobble up the cracked corn at the end of the day. Yesterday she stood off on her own and didn’t seem interested. I cuddled with her for a while checking her out. Feathers were fine. Eyes looked good. Vent was clean. Crop felt normal. Comb had normal coloring.
this morning ste came out of the coup in her normal fashion. She walked around investigating the morning grounds as she usually does. But when I went to give the feed, she backed off and went and stood in a corner.
she lays an egg every morning in the nester. Today I found a soft broken egg under where she was roosting. I also found a long thin red membrane looking thing on the roost. I starred at the thin membrane thing for a bit waiting to see if it would move (like a worm). No movement. Dies anyone have any idea what I can do for her?

Do you still have the membrane? If so, can cut it open? Any layers to it?
Is that poop attached to the end of it or??? If something is attached, can you cut that open too?

What do you feed?
I would make sure she's drinking well and eating. Make oyster shell available free choice. If you are giving a lot of scratch, cut it down to no more than 5-10% of daily intake.

Watch to see if she's pooping and hopefully get a photo of that too.

I am feeding Purina Flock Raiser. Oyster shells are available at all times as well as grit. I don’t throw out a lot of scratch to them. I have 7 and maybe I throw out a handful for them to share just when I leave the pen. She is always a good eater of the feed.
I will try to cut up the poop

It's shed intestinal lining. I recommend getting her started on Corid 9.6% solution. Dosage is 9.5ml per gallon of water for 5 days. Dont add anything to the mixture and it must be her sole source of water to drink. Do not give her anything containing vitamin B1 (thiamine.)

Should I give Corid to the whole flock?

It's not necessary. Ensure feeders and waterers are feces free.
Do you know much about capillary worms? I can’t locate a chicken vet in my area so I’ve just been googling some answers. Capillary worms came up.
chicken appeared fine after I gave her a dose of corid yesterday morning. She joined in with the others, ate and drank regularly. This morning she was just standing on the roost. Wouldn’t come out (she’s usually first). Not eating or drinking.

Yes, capillary worms can cause inflammation and shedding of intestinal lining. If one bird has them, most likely others have them as well.
I recommend that you treat your birds with Valbazen liquid cattle/sheep wormer. Dosage is 1/2ml given orally using a syringe without needle. Redose again in 10 days.
Have someone hold a hen for you. Preload your syringe with the Valbazen and then pull down on the hens wattles and her mouth will open. Quickly shoot the liquid in her mouth and immediately release the wattle so she can swallow it on her own. If you dont release the wattles right away, she can aspirate.

Thank you for the info. I literally cannot find a vet to help with a chicken.
If it is not capillary worm, will the valbezen be bad for her? And should I not treat for Coccidisis? Or can I do both corid and valbezen at the same time?
