(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? We have had our chickens for about a year and a half now, bought as chicks

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? We started with 7. A year ago, there was a freak accident causing them to peck and kill one. We also had a rooster that was sold to us as a hen (it happens haha) and we kept him until a couple of months ago when he started stressing the 5 hens out too much. We also wanted them to be fully feathered by winter and he had given them bare backs. So we sent him to a farm with a bunch of chickens and now have 5

(3) What breeds do you have? Americaunas

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? I found this site when researching how to start a flock and become chicken parents. I wanted to ensure we had the right amount of space and knowledge before diving in.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Spending time outside

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. We have 4 kids (soon to be 5) and 3 dogs. We have a full house and plenty of laughter!

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? I finally joined after needing to post a thread about an injured chicken. Most of the time, I would simply lurk the forums to find answers lol!
