I've been lurking on this forum for several months since I hatched two unknown-but-turned-out-to-be-Black-Swedish duck eggs in an incubator in May with no prior knowledge of ducks. The info I've found on this forum has been wonderful so I decided today would be a good day to finally register as a member!
My husband and I live in Connecticut and we now have 4 Black Swedish feathered babies (of the 2 duck eggs we hatched, one was a male and one was a female, so I ordered two females from Metzer Farms based on all the extremely helpful information provided here regarding male to female ratios). My husband has spent an enormous amount of time building them a beautiful run/coop for the winter and we're only a few days away from moving them out of their temporary home into their permanent home!
