Hey all,
I'm an Arkansan girl who lives in the city on a large lot and I have taken advantage of that to become as much of an urban farmer as my husband will tolerate. A few years ago, I wrangled him into building a huge coop with me in our backyard. I've been browsing this site for several years since before I entered the world of backyard chickens, and I decided it was time to officially join up. I have some specific chicken issues that are driving me crazy, and I look forward to benefiting from the expertise on this site.

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

We have neighbors from Arkansas. Great people!

I'm glad you decided to join us! I'm also glad you convinced your husband to get some chickens! I hope you are enjoying them. Feel free to ask any questions. We are happy to help. Have you checked out our learning center yet? Tons of helpful info there! https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. A lot of us were lurkers before joining. :o) Which part of Arkansas are you in? I was born in Hot Springs and still love that area. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.

I'm in central AR- N Little Rock. Not the most chicken friendly city, but we're working on it! Been before city council several times trying to get ordinance changed requiring 75' distance from coop and neighbor. It's tricky to meet that limit. I'm lucky I do, and my girls are all legal, but I also know there are plenty of furtive BYC owners. :) thanks for the welcome!

thanks for the welcome!

You're welcome. One set of my grandparents used to live in N Little Rock when I was a kid. Whenever I would visit them from Hot Springs, they would take me to the Little Rock zoo. Good luck in dealing with your city council and staying legal.
