(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We are new to chickens and got our first 6 almost two weeks ago as day old hatchlings. In the first couple days, we lost one to pasty butt but the rest seem to be doing OK
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Down to 5
(3) What breeds do you have?
2 ISA Browns
2 Bantams
1 Asia Black
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Seems like an awesome learning/teaching opportunity and hobby and we are excited for fresh eggs
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I knit and garden mostly
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have a husband (currently out building our coop), a 4yo son (top chicken-cuddler), and an 8mo daughter (amateur chicken observer)
We also have a cat who happens to be absolutely terrified of the chicks
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
BYC always comes up when I search for answers to question I have about our chicks. I have a question but can't find an answer so I decided to join and ask.
