I think we can all agree that the longest day you will ever know is the day before your chicks are due to hatch. arg! always hoping maybe one will hatch early, the hours DRAG by. lol My two year old "barnyard mix" bantam hen Hoolie-O-smith-rodregaz (long story...dont ask...) is sitting on 4 eggs that are due to hatch tomorrow. one looks to be infertile, two have for sure been developing great, and one could go either way at this point. the last few days she has been VERY protective of her eggs and nest. so cute when a lil' bantie trys to be a big hen! she was having trouble covering all her eggs at first, so i popped one under my pigeons for them to incubate and then give it back to the hen when it hatches. They cant tell the diffrence! Ive got the pre hatch jitters, realy hoping everything will go well. how is everyone else's hatches are going? updates and probly pics 2morrow!

so exited!!!!!

Good luck on your broody hatch.

We have quit setting eggs as the back 5 has about 150 chicks running around, and we still have 8 brooders with birds waiting to go outside.

Now everything has gone broody, last count we had 12 hens sitting, some on air, some on eggs.

Enough is enough .........
